PrintCapture

Features

PrintCapture transparently keeps track of the entire print history of a document. This is especially useful in departments which bill for color prints. PrintCapture indicates how many prints were made to which printer at what time and date. This running log is kept with the document in its folder, and can be viewed as a text document or imported into any database or spreadsheet software. This product makes billing more accurate and easier on both operators and administrative personnel.

• optional centrally served popup list of job numbers that sorts itself depending on what has been entered, allowing for hundreds of numbers; and

Free with PrintCapture, the stand-alone print log viewer tracks a file or enables the drag and drop on the print log viewer to automatically compile useful information about the print history of a job. In addition to giving totals it takes the various user-defined billing rates and calculates up-to-date billing totals for the job, and can print the information.

print log viewer is a System extension that continually monitors printing from any application. Once in place, any printing which uses background printing, including all desktop printers, will cause a small extra dialog to appear which allows (or requires) the user to enter a job number for the print. This information is then added to a print log which can then be viewed with print track manager. Information tracked includes: number of pages, number of copies, page size, printer name, machine name, job number, creator application, document name, user name, and print area.
